According to Gizmochina, Kirin 710 will be an upgrade from its predecessor chipset, the Kirin 659 and will come with its own Huawei chipset architecture based on Cortex A73 CPU. Other news also mentioned that this mobile chipset is built using 12nm process technology at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). For comparison, Snapdragon 710 is built using 10nm process technology through Samsung Electronics manufacturing. In addition, the Qualcomm’s chipset is also equipped with AI multi-core engine and processing capabilities.
Snapdragon 710 has a composition of two cores Kryo 360 Cortex A75 with a clock speed of 2.2 GHz and six cores Kryo 360 Cortex A55 which has a clock speed of 1.7 GHz. The octa-core processor is also paired with the Adreno 616 GPU promising 35 percent better graphics rendering. Recently there are already some manufacturers who announced that they are ready to use Snapdragon 710 chipset. Two of them are Xiaomi Mi 8 SE and Vivo is planned to launch Vivo NEX with this latest chipset made by Qualcomm. In addition to Xiaomi and Vivo who have confirmed, there is also a Global HMD who reportedly will compile the latest Nokia smartphone in this year with Snapdragon 710 chipset. In addition, Google also mentioned that they are preparing a new smartphone ‘Pixel’ to support the same chipset. Although not much information is known about Kirin 710 made by Huawei, it is likely that this chipset will be buried for the first time into Huawei Nova 3 or Huawei P20 Lite. Hopefully, this smartphone will slide in July 2018 with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and rear dual-camera support.
